Meeting of the Coordinating Council for Tourism at the Minsk City Executive Committee
The capital today faces the strategic task of increasing
and the qualitative growth of the tourist flow, which in turn will contribute to increasing the economic efficiency of each incoming tourist, increasing the utilization of infrastructure and increasing the export of tourist services.
In this regard, the following issues have become the focus of attention of government and business representatives:
Marketing and digitalization of the tourism sector.
Work on the modernization of the Minsk tourist portal is currently being completed: minsktourism.by .The design of the portal has been updated, the functionality of the pages has been expanded, new search modules have been added to make it easier to find the necessary information, tourist routes and excursions, reference information on the sights and events of the city.
Relevant bilateral documents have been signed to establish business partnership contacts in the field of tourism.:
Memorandum of Understanding between the Minsk City Executive Committee (Republic of Belarus) and the Government of the Smolensk Region (Russian Federation) in the field of tourism;
Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation between the Committee of Economics of the Minsk City Executive Committee (Republic of Belarus) and the Committee on Tourism of the City of Moscow (Russian Federation).
Work is underway to place social advertising in the twin cities and partner cities of the Russian Federation on a parity basis.
In May of this year, the tourism potential of Minsk was presented
on 95 LED screens in Moscow.
From August 1, the tourist potential of Minsk will be presented on the LED screens of Yekaterinburg.
The capital's tourism opportunities will be presented at VDNH in August and at Zaryadye Park in Moscow in September.
It is also planned to participate in the COTTM International Tourism and Travel Exhibition in Beijing (China) in October as part of the National Stand of the Republic of Belarus.
Currently, the issue of organizing a presentation of the tourism potential of Minsk in Smolensk, Nizhny Novgorod and Yekaterinburg and signing the relevant documents is being worked out.
The development of tourist attractions.
In May of this year, the visit center of the Minsk Infotourcenter was opened on the site near the Sports Palace.Minsk residents and guests of the capital receive information about sights, routes, events, and hotel services at the visitor center, receive maps, brochures, and guidebooks for Minsk, book city and country tours, and purchase souvenirs.
In order to develop event tourism and form a unified festival space and attract the attention of guests of the capital, a playground near the Sports Palace was opened in May this year.
The development and promotion of the main tourist locations of the capital, as key points of attraction for tourists, continues.:
Loshitsky manor and Park complex;
The historical center (Rakovskoye and Troitskoye suburbs, Upper Town).
In order to improve route navigation, as well as identify key points of attraction for tourists, work is underway to install tourist information pylons. The location of these information media is determined in the main tourist locations and tourist attractions (15 locations).
Currently, the installation of 3 pylons has been completed: Pobediteley Avenue (Sports Palace), Freedom Square (Upper Town), Independence Square (Church of Saints Simeon and Elena).
Development of priority types of tourism.
Gastronomic
The catering infrastructure of Minsk is represented by more than 4 and a half thousand catering facilities that offer a variety of services and dishes. Of the wide variety of these facilities, about 200 either directly specialize in national Belarusian cuisine, or provide an opportunity to try certain dishes.
Industrial
Industrial tourism is very popular among tourists. Today, more than 20 industrial enterprises of the capital are invited to walk through the workshops and exhibition halls, observe the processes in detail and see how the world brands "Made in Belarus" are created. The most popular among them are: Kommunarka, MTZ, Slodych, Alivaria, watch factory "Luch", Minsk Sparkling Wine Factory, Minsk Khlebprom, Atlant. By the end of 2025, about 70 thousand tourists and tourists visited the enterprises of Minsk.
Medical
Guests of our city can combine rest with receiving highly qualified care in the best medical centers and clinics, take rehabilitation and wellness courses.
According to the results of the first half of 2026, medical services were provided to more than 30 thousand foreign patients from 115 countries around the world.
Ecological
Minsk is a "green" metropolis. The area of green spaces is more than 40% of the entire territory of the city. The unique combination of developed urban infrastructure and untouched natural islands makes it possible to actively develop this area.
To date, 91 recreation areas (including ecotropics) and 22 equipped beaches have been created in the capital.
Event and historical and cultural types of tourism also occupy an important place.
Development of a travel brandbook.
Work is underway to develop a travel brandbook that will include a logo, corporate spelling, slogan, and a palette of corporate colors.Subsequently, the developed brandbook is intended to become a mandatory standard for positioning the tourist potential of Minsk. This will eliminate visual fragmentation and create a holistic tourist image of the capital.

SE "Minskreklama" is the mascot of Minsk.
Increasing the export of tourist services.
All this work is being carried out in order to achieve the main task set by the Head of State – to increase the contribution of the tourism sector to the country's GDP by at least 2 times (4.5% by the year 30).One of the important indicators for achieving this goal is to increase the export of tourist services.
Today, the share of travel companies in the export of tourist destinations in Minsk is about 50%.
In this regard, representatives of Minsk travel companies and public associations were invited to the council meeting, who shared their experience in increasing the export of tourist services.
